About Dana Bumgardner, PLLC

Dana received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2003. After serving the South Mississippi community for years as an EMT-Paramedic, she attended Mississippi College School of Law and was awarded the degree Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2013.
After briefly delving into different areas of the law after law school, Dana quickly realized her passion was helping families - especially children. Dana has focused her legal career on helping children and families for over a decade, working extensively as guardian ad litem in both youth court and chancery court, as well as representing individuals in various child-related cases, most commonly in divorces and custody litigation.
Dana is also proud to be an active member of her community. She was one of the founding members of the Board of Directors of Cherished Hearts Children's Advocacy Center in Jones County, which opened its doors in 2024, and remains active with the board. She also had the privilege of serving on the 2023 Taskforce on Foster Care and Adoption and Other Related Matters, which provided recommendations to the state legislature about possible improvements in the law to assist children in various ways.

Dana uses her knowledge and experience as a mother, former paramedic, and community advocate to assist children and families during some of the most challenging times they face.
She is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and the American Bar Association, along with each entity's Family Law Sections.
